“Grace & Glory” – Schubert Mass in G and Rutter Gloria
These two great choral-orchestral works provide a range of color and contrast that is richly satisfying. Composed at the age of 18, Franz Schubert’s Mass in G is a gem of exquisite melody and youthful simplicity, accompanied by lyrical orchestral strings. John Rutter’s Gloria is jubilant and celebratory, with the grandeur of full orchestra and brilliant brass fanfare. Festive carols and sing-alongs will round out the program to usher in the holiday season.
