Elevating our Community

For our first official post on the new Hult Center Blog we have a special letter from the Hult Center General Manager, Theresa Sizemore.

Dear Patrons,

Welcome to the Hult Center blog! During our COVID shutdown, we’ve been able to launch a new website and now this blog to better serve you and to invite you in for a closer look at the Center and all that goes on here. Well, maybe not all. The Diva has to have some secrets.

As I considered writing this first blog, I had many ideas about discussing the launch of new technologies and what we’ve been accomplishing within the COVID paradigm. With the recent fires, it all pales. Our hearts go out to our communities in Lane County and throughout the entire west coast who have been impacted by the fires. We are so very grateful to the men and women on the front lines who are fighting fires, protecting homes, ensuring harvests and taking care of animals left behind. We’re grateful for our organizations and volunteers who are diligently working for resources and to shelter all who are affected by the fires. The giving from the community is truly amazing, but there is so much more to do.

Today is the Hult Center’s 38th birthday! When the Center was conceptualized and built, it was with the spirit of transforming and elevating not only Eugene, but our entire region. Normally we would have planned a celebration and invited our community in. Given COVID and our current crisis, we’re reaching out. Today, I’m asking you to help transform and elevate our communities in need and, if you can, please donate to:

United Way of Lane County’s Wildfire Response Fund

Your gift to this emergency fund provides immediate assistance to local nonprofits meeting the needs of families and individuals who have lost their homes, their businesses, or have been otherwise impacted by the 2020 fires in Lane County.

We are so grateful for the support of our community, patrons, partners and City of Eugene over the past 38 years. So many memories made and so many more to come.

From the depths of our hearts, thank you.
