On the Turntable with Redray Frazier

We’re just a couple weeks away from our next 10×10 performance with Redray Frazier on November 17. So in preparation we asked Redray  what he has been listening to recently. And remember, all 10×10 tickets only cost $10.

The following was provided to the Hult Center by Redray Frazier.

These just happen to be 5 of the moment albums that receive rotations on my turntable. Michael Kiwanuka, Curtis Harding, and Black Pumas all sound like groups that Nina Simone would have maybe listened to if she were alive today. They all have depth and style.

I have listened to a lot of Nina Simone over the years but this particular record, from her performance at Carnegie Hall reminds me of my father.  He couldn’t help getting lost in her delivery, and I must say that it has the same hold on me.

This Radiohead album, OK Computer, solidified my appreciation this band.  I remember when it first came out.  My bandmates and I couldn’t get enough of it. Just a brilliant collection of incredibly well written songs.

Don’t forget, every ticket at a 10×10 show is just $10 and catch Redray Frazier on November 17 at the Hult Center.
