Virtual Careers in the Arts: Francesco Lecce-Chong

The Hult Center’s Education & Community Engagement Department  released another installment of their Virtual Careers in the Arts series last week. This series of interviews aims to allow students an opportunity to connect and learn how professionals in our venue developed their careers.

This session focused on Francesco Lecce-Chong, Music Director & Conductor at the Eugene Symphony. Francesco sat down with our education team and discussed what steps he had to take to get to this position and offers helpful tips for others interested in this field. He shares insights about his daily tasks and goals, what goes into planning a symphony season, and even discusses the audition processes for those interested in joining a professional symphony. Towards the end of Francesco’s session, he answers a number of questions about his career and other aspects of instrumental music.

Interested in watching live? You can head to our Education Programs page and sign up to receive Zoom information. Our next session will be on Tuesday,  February 9 at 4 pm with the Hult Center’s Front of House Manager, Louise Thomas.
