We couldn’t be more excited about our free concert series, Hult Center Summer Series. Kicking off the Summer fun this week is Blaze and Kelly.
Hult Center: For those who would be hearing your music for the first time, how would you describe your sound?
Mo (Blaze and Kelly): Our music is touching and thought provoking. Our angelic harmonies lift folks up and touch their hearts. Each song tells a story that everyone can relate to and also brings up memories of nostalgic times with friends and family. We have 9 albums of original music and put our own twist on popular covers, everything from Pink Floyd to Patsy Cline.
HC: What would you say the music scene is like in Boise?
Mo: The music scene in Boise is bustling!! There is so much incredible talent and tasty venues that host music frequently. We are very lucky to be here and have had the privilege of performing here for almost 20 years.
HC: What are your biggest musical influences?
Mo: Musical influences are old time country. John Prine, Chet Atkins, Johnny Cash. The ladies; Patsy Cline, Bonnie Raitt, the Indigo Girls, Ani DiFranco.
HC: What advice would you offer aspiring songwriters?
Mo: For any and all aspiring songwriters we would say follow your passion, grab the muse when it shows up and never forget that what you’re putting out there is making a difference.
HC: What can the audience expect from your upcoming live performance?
Mo: The audience can expect a lot of fun and uplifting energy from our show! We love what we do and we love to bring people on this amazing musical journey with us!
