ENGAGE: Virtual Careers in the Arts - Events Manager

The Hult Center’s Education & Community Engagement program released another installment of their Virtual Careers in the Arts series last week. This series of interviews allows students an opportunity to connect and learn how professionals in our venue developed their careers. Join Jen Cumberworth as she chats Kim Weiland, Events Manager at the Hult Center.

Ever wonder what happens once a show is booked? How does it get to the stage? In this latest session of our Careers in the Arts series, I got to talk with our Events Manager, Kim Weiland, and learn all about the many details that go into successfully putting shows on our stages.  As the Events Manager, Kim plays an integral part in connecting shows to everyone at the Hult Center, and making sure everyone’s needs are met – even if it means getting all green jellybeans for an artist! Kim shared her career journey to her current job and some great theories on why there are sometimes interesting rider requests.

Interested in watching live? You can email our Education Department or head to our Education Programs page and sign up to receive Zoom information. Our next and last session will be on Tuesday, June 8th at 4 pm with the Hult Center’s General Manager, Theresa Sizemore.
